Baby Lisa’s mom: I was drunk when she vanished
Mon Oct 17, 2011
While I don't think this woman did anything criminal by being drunk while home alone with 3 small kids, I don't think it was smart either. I don't know if she did anything to her child or was just too drunk to hear anything but either way, this is tragic.
Do moms who stay home have smarter kids?
Tue Nov 2, 2010
I think there are many more factors involved in academic development other than if Mom goes back to work early or not. It's not fair to make people feel like if they go back to work their child may suffer for that.
Naked-baby photos: Do or don't?
Tue Nov 2, 2010
I agree that naked pictures of kids don't need to be placed on the internet for the world to see but I for one have no problem with the standard bathtub or sprinkler pictures being taken. I mean, it's hilarious for me at 33 to see those kinds of pictures of myself when I was a baby.
Do you ration your kids' Halloween candy?
Thu Oct 28, 2010
Obviously I am not going to let my child eat all her candy in one night but come on, lighten up people! Enjoy life and be happy!
Would you rent a drug-sniffing dog if you thought your teen was doing drugs?
Fri Oct 22, 2010
I would search the room(s) myself. It's my house so everything is fair game!
Detroit prosecutor proposes sending parents who skip school conferences to jail
Wed Oct 20, 2010
While I don't think the government should necessarily get this involved, I do agree with the intentions here. Parents do need to take more responsibility and get more involved in their children's lives.
Should an 11-year-old cheerleader have been dismissed from her squad for refusing to "shake her booty"?
Wed Oct 20, 2010
There is no reason to have elementary school girls showing their "booty" for a cheer. Good job Faylene!
Do you think monogamy is natural?
Tue Oct 12, 2010
Just like anything else, I think there are some people who are simply not willing and/or able to remain monogamous and some who are.
Bullying prevention: 3 steps for parents from nonviolence activists
Tue Oct 12, 2010
Paul, I tend to agree with you but the unfortunate thing is, not all children who are being bullied are willing or able to reach the way you and your son did. For starters, some parents wouldn't be as understanding as you and would punish their child, even for defending themselves.
When kids' TV pays off
Thu Oct 7, 2010
I love this because I too sometimes wonder if I should let my daughter watch as much TV as she does. She likes Nick Jr., the "preschool on TV" channel as she calls it. She watches at least an hour of TV a day because part of her nighttime routine is watching Dora and then Diego.
